The Five Fold Plan in Prayer

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Prayer is a two sided conversation of man with God in the same way that Adam and God talked and walked in the cool of the day back in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus said when you pray do not use vain repetitions, for we should speak from our heart.

Jesus then gave us a format to use in prayer; unfortunately many people just use it as a vain repetition. When we look at this format we see that it is the same as the five offerings:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Acknowledgment of God – the burnt offering.

Give us this day our daily bread. (A better translation is “we give ourselves daily  as bread”.)

Acknowledgement of man – the meal offering.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Acknowledgement of sin – the sin offering.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

Acknowledgement of trespass – the trespass offering.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Acknowledgment of the glory of God – the Peace offering.

Solomon’s Prayer

This same format was used in God’s answer to Solomon at the dedication of the temple when Solomon spoke to God about the people.

2Ch_7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If my people, which are called by my name,

Acknowledgment of God – the burnt offering.

shall humble themselves, and pray,

Acknowledgement of man – the meal offering.

and seek my face,

Acknowledgement of sin – the sin offering.

and turn from their wicked ways;

Acknowledgement of trespass – the trespass offering.

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Acknowledgment of the glory of God – the Peace offering.

Paul said that everything should be done decently and in order, this format should be the first steps in our conversations with God. This should be the build-up before we take communion for when we eat of the body of Christ and drink the blood we are partaking of the peace offering with Him.

This order of offerings was what the priests had to follow before they could enter into the Holy place and the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle were they would be entering into the presence of God.

We should be following the same order when we wish to enter into the presence of God.
